Siew Siew was born in Christchurch to Malaysian Chinese parents.

She graduated from Otago Medical School in 1994 and subsequently worked in NZ,
Australia and Malaysian hospitals gaining experience mainly in Obstetrics &
Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Dermatology and Family Medicine.

She returned to Christchurch and took up General Practice in 2003 because she
enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and their families. Besides
English, she can speak Mandarin, Malay and Hokkien. Since having her 2 daughters,
she juggles her career with family life.
