Jacqui has lived in Christchurch for most of her life. She studied at Otago University, completing a degree in Physical Education before going on to study medicine. She graduated from medicine in 2007, and since then has primarily worked at Christchurch Women's and Christchurch Public Hospital. She also had one year working rurally at Grey Base Hospital in Greymouth.

Jacqui entered her GP fellowship training in 2012, and started working at High St City Health in August 2014. Jacqui has completed the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Diploma, and has a special interest in women's health. Jacqui is also employed by Pegasus Health as the GP Liaison for Women's Health. She is trained to insert Jadelle subdermal contraceptive implants, Intrauterine Devices and also perform endometrial biopsies/pipelles.

Jacqui has a young family and this keeps her busy enough outside of work. She enjoys sport, particularly skiing, when she gets a chance!
